Terrible lighting photo - we both kinda look like ghouls

I've been back on the 'interviewing celebrities' train for work and last week it was the Foo Fighters and Cyndi Lauper.

Oh and the 'Weasley twins' from Harry Potter, as well as "Weird Al" Yankovic, who was a top bloke. All just a day in the life of an entertainment reporter!

I won't write about Cyndi, because I promised my friend Belinda I'd write it as a guest post for her blog, which I will do soon!

But I did want to take a moment to gush about the Foo Fighters.

Do you like them? I think they are one of the greatest rock bands to unfold in the last decade and some of their biggest hits are some of the best rock/pop songs I've heard in a long time.

I was thrilled when Sony Music asked us to interview Dave Grohl (singer), Pat Smear (guitarist) and Chris Shiflett (guitarist) on Saturday.

Work on a Saturday? To interview the Foo Fighters?? No problem.

They were such friendly and funny guys - especially Dave. He was flirtatious and complimented me on many things, I'm sure he was just being nice, but GAH. Then he scooted over on his chair so I could share it and cuddle in for photo. I was sandwiched between Dave Grohl and Pat Smear - two musical legends who both played in Nirvana.

I may have passed out for a moment there, I'm still not sure.

We talked about their new album Wasting Light, which was recorded in Dave's garage using analog equipment (old school style). We talked about Nirvana and Kurt Cobain, and Dave's rise as a frontman after Kurt's death. They talked about touring, why they do it all, and how fatherhood has kind of made the whole thing seem a lot less important.

And in eight years of doing this sort of work, for the first time ever, I asked for an autograph.

Wow. Humbled. Thanks guys!
