What is being held depends on where you live. If you live in Australia and the bush it is an Echidna. If you live in South/America then it is a porcupine and if you live in the UK it is a hedgehoge. They look similsr but are not related. Echidna is a Tachyglossidae .. ( monontremes, mammal and lays eggs same as platypus.) The others do not. Porcupine is a rodent,and its quills come out as a defence live births and the hedgehog is an insectivore and has live births as well. ..
